You share so many wise insights about this addiction but I don’t understand why you don’t have many more views, because you’d deserve it, and addicts would deserve it. Many people still think about push-ups, cold showers and other stupid things and they don’t realize these are all escapes from their root problem. And until you escape, with this coping mechanism, from your real problem, when you have an urge (because you don’t want to watch porn), using cold showers, push-ups, movies, videogames, walks, socializing, eating, chattering, youtube, overthinking, working, etc (of course some of them may be helpful), you’ll never face yourself, NEVER. And that’s a fact. Yes, you might be able to stop watching porn for months, or even more for some reason. But the root problem that you are ignoring is still there, it’s your shadow, and it will become bigger and bigger, it’s logical. So, in the end you’ll end up relapsing. That’s why you hear of people who come back to porn (or maybe they developed another addiction) after months or even years, because they never faced their root problem (maybe incapacity to handle stress/emotions or loneliness, some childhood trauma, escape from responsibilities, escape from LIFE guys! It simply means this! And Life can also be painful sometimes, but it’s always LIFE anyway; why should you avoid life? So, simply observe it, don’t run away from it because you run away from YOURSELF! And you are that Life too!) Think about it, see it. Just notice - whitout judging, this is VERY VERY important - evey single time you want to use porn, social medias, youtube, movies or whatever and ask yourself why you want to do it, what are you running away from, and investigate it. Because the more you run away from your core problem, the bigger it will become, and it will look like a monster to you. So, when you finally listen to yourself and understand your root problem, after all this “running away” for years and years, you’ll see how porn (that is only a symptom that has NOTHING to do with “sex”, NEVER) will “magically” disappear from your life, never to return. So, start climbing the “right mountain”. Love you guys.
