I'm glad I stumbled across this video. I was free of this for seven years, then backslid into it nearly five years ago. I've felt such shame due to those choices, but I know there's deep parts of me that need to be healed. God has healed me so much over the years since I've been saved, but there's more to be done as I was in an extremely dark place before salvation. I know He'll do that work in me as He is already doing. I'm also committing to quitting one day at a time. I'm not promising God I'll never do it again because this battle is a one day at a time battle. It's a journey, and especially if someone has been deep in it, it can only be taken a day at a time. I can quit, my friends can quit, and I know Jesus died to give us that freedom. Please pray as my friends and I start up an online support group this coming Monday. Half of us are struggling and really need it, the other half aren't struggling nearly as much, but still slip from time to time. I know God will greatly work through it!

I am a former meth user as well, and I actually understand this part of his thinking. I once relapsed after years clean because we were faced with a sudden move combined with financial stress and I felt like my husband and kids expected me to handle everything and be super human - instead of communicating that fear/need to my husband or my sponsor, I bought a gram of meth and used it to become super human. We got moved, everyone praised me, and luckily I was able to come clean to my sponsor before it got too far out of hand but it was a stupid, stupid, stupid, DANGEROUS decision. I feel for this guy and understand him but as a fellow recovering addict I wanna shake him. I hope he was able to get back on his feet, he had 12 years clean and he can do it again! Cheering him and his wonderful wife on.
