Some reason it seems to me that my intrusive thoughts are from catastrophizing. It's like my fight or flight responce causes me to think of crazy things that could happen because of my past porn addiction. I practice deep inhaling to get fresh oxygen to my brain and remind myself that the worry is causing my intrusive thoughts. Then I remind myself to make a habit to remember a good or funny memory to take my mind off negative thoughts. I write down all my good and funny memories as I remember them so I can look back on them all when I start to feel depressed or sad.

Thank you for talking about this subject I came out to my friends gosh when I was in the army I was 17 and this was the 70s that was taboo you weren't allowed to be gay in the army then. But things went to hell all my friends just thought he was my good buddy but we were more than that we met right after boot camp and we ended up being stationed at the same base in Germany freak accident but the best kind, it was almost like a three-year honeymoon it was the most awesome thing in the world it came to an abrupt end when he got hit by a cab. He was killed and thrown in front of me right on the sidewalk I never had to deal with anything like that before and after a few weeks I started up go to pieces. All my family and friends new except my parents they found out when I was at the age of 23 only because my mom asked I was going to tell them in the fall but I got asked during the middle of summer so much for that I bet somebody else add a New Year's Eve party in 1982 and we were together for 25 years. When I was in my thirties I had a severe spinal injury I guess it was too much for him after a while his loss. I learned how to walk again all on my own I was in a wheelchair for 5 years. I started at a park it was gravel and soft to walk on I would walk for 5 for 8 minutes a day I also joined the gym to strengthen my upper body just in case I ended up back in a wheelchair cuz I didn't use a motorized one I used to my arms and that was very hard sometimes I use it especially if I'm in the city and there's lots of distance to cover then I get somebody to push me some places I can go on my own in the chair especially now if I want to go to the mall they don't even give you a place to sit now a days. Just because a CV 19 I can swim wonderfully I can walk on sand really well but I can't walk on the street or sidewalk it hurts my spine too much if I was completely paralyzed I guess I wouldn't suffer from pain but I guess I like it the way I am now even though I have to take lots of pain medication every day like clockwork. I'm still single and I'm dating somebody half my age he is fine with this what a beautiful man he is. Alan Peterson he lives in Littleton Colorado I think I got the name right sometimes I forget he's been back and forth 4 / almost 3 years now I inherited a bunch of furniture from my mom's beach house and a brand new SUV top of the line it's big all glass roof retractable on top of that tinted windows the whole schmear! I just want everything to be perfect when he comes here to live permanently, he will also be working for me is a physical therapist and he's also a model that's a plus! So much for my coming-out story at least my friends my good ones stayed friends with me I did not come out in high school my cousin did he was the same age as I was and he came out in junior high and I tell you what he went through living hell, my classmates were not too kind to gay people he never outed me. You knew I was gay it kind of runs in the family I also have a brother who is gay and a niece who is becoming transgender my dad sister was a lesbian I think it runs on my father's side of the family I always thought it ran on the mother's side of the family not mine. Anyway I loved your story I thought I would share mine with you, I think I should write a book about my life it's quite interesting. I think it would make a good read. I would love to get on YouTube to talk about it but I knew I was gay in elementary school when I started to go through puberty yeah I was an early bloomer. It started the summer of 5th grade even when I was in 7th grade none of my classmates had even begun to go through puberty I used to get lots of looks in the shower, I didn't give a crap let them look sometimes if they're people looking at me all the time sometimes I would get a boner people didn't know what to make of that huge thing between my legs LOL there were some guys I was interested in didn't find out that they were gay until the last month of my senior year which didn't help any because I already had join the Army so I was gone when I was at a high school I had a month of freedom before I went to bootcamp Army School. Move to Florida when I got out of the army couldn't find a significant other everybody just wanted to play the field I was ready to settle down at the age of 17 if you can believe that! Yeah I started dating men who were in their early twenties when I was 14 + 15 so I was done sewing my oats! I just can't wait to be with my new man! I'm so excited to start my new life all over again this is going to be a lot of fun! Anyway I enjoyed your coming out story it was brilliant! Robert storm 10th of July 20/20.
