I'd like to share one incident that happened with my girlfriend on our way back to home from college. If I give a broad picture, she's a kind of a person who does not like anything touchy or affectionate while in public. Just as you said, we both had this what would others think if they see kinda thing. Which we always were being stopped from even holding hands and sitting together. Maybe you guys think what is there in holding hands and sitting together. But our place is kinda like that. If there's a story, the people around tend to dig it up to humiliate... scare.. whatever. But that's not the point.

You just never know what people will do to each other, so best to prepare I guess said one of them, who was a white lady in her 50's it looked like. You could tell she was that typical feminist liberal who wore it on her sleeve and her head with pinkish hair and hadn't dieted a day in her life. She stood in the middle of the gunshop waiting in line to do a background check for a pink handgun, no kidding, talking out loud to others around her about how she thought she'd never buy a gun in her life. It was if she was trying to clear her liberal conscience right there in front of us to make sure we all knew she was still a good person, a good liberal. Her worldview as she knew it had faced a reality, or a feeling, she never thought she'd have to. She felt truly unsafe, not that unsafe bullshit nonsense that so many liberals need safe spaces for...now she felt physically,, actually unsafe about the future due to the coronavirus craze. And her response was to buy a handgun.
