That is where the discussion starts and where everything Vaush has said in response is beyond simply just cringe.

My perspective as a mixed race Latino gay man who has a hobby of investigating the entertainment industry: 1) MBJ and Lori didn't have a real relationship from the get-go. It was a bearding promance contracted relationship. He got heterosexual cover and good PR. She got $, business connections, and good PR. 2) Lori's career, at least for now, is to be arm candy and accrue wealth and connections. I don't think she's been to college, and this is actually a smart move if you have the personality for it. This isn't her first bearding job, and it won't be her last. It was scheduled to end messy so that both sides would look clean and dirty, and like they both had grievances, so that it would look authentic and give one last burst of PR for them both. 3) MBJ is 100% gay. My gaydar is really good, and my celebrity gaydar has yet to fail me. He is super gay. If you watch his old soaps, he can't quite cover up his fem mannerisms, like he's learned to do later. He did and still has zero chemistry with romantic female leads in his movies. 4) Sadly, he's not likely to come out while he has an active acting career. Gay actors that come out find their careers stalling out, being reduced to comedic or gay typecasts (at best), or ending. Gay musicians like Lil Nas X, while still having trouble, can often still develop their career. Acting is different. Out actors are seen as gay, regardless of the role, by straight audiences. They are seen to lose studios $, whether fairly or not. On top of this, MBJ's main audience is black women. If he came out, they would drop him like a hot pocket. So, he's stuck in the closet until his career is up. Interestingly, I see that he's moving into producing and directing. I wonder if he's anticipating that his star is falling, and he's looking to transition from before the camera to behind the camera, possibly by 45ish. Maybe he'll come out then, who knows. 5) Finally, bearding is bog standard in the entertainment industry. Not unusual at all. Often young starlets will happily beard for exposure. Studios often have their stars promance for PR for their projects. Marriage-bearding contracts are more old school and uncommon, but they still exist. John Travolta, Tom Cruise, Jensen Ackles, and Jared Padalecki have all used marriage bearding contracts. And, for bearding, it is typically a formal written contract, given how serious the matter is, with NDAs and penalties for not following the arrangements.

The most convincing part of this movie to me was the second microwave timer dislaying End after the countdown finished!
