Anything can be an obsession. There's a fine line between loving something and being obsessed with something. I'm specifically talking about Neurotypical people because Neurodivergence is a whole different ball game when you discuss comfort items and obsession and routine and it's not fair to compare it to a neurotypical society they are often forced to confine themselves or masks themselves to be in. So, i think honestly that neurotypical with any sort of obsession all the same. There's a difference between having a few favorite shirts and maybe some decorations and such related to your fandom (we're talking anime, sports, disney, super heroes, etc) and there is becoming the fandom, where you're losing your house and cosplaying as ypur favorite character or player or whatever every day. Obsession is obsession regardless of which fandom...though some fandom obsessions are more normalized thsb others.
