To me, Sara is in complete denial about her current situation and seems almost 'proud' of her drug addiction. I can totally understand how/why most of the people Mark interviews have wound up in the situations they are in. I am always amazed by how self reflective and humble most people are, and how they try to take ownership over the decisions they have made, despite having all the cards stacked against them from day 1. However, Sara here, seems to want to blame everyone but herself. She had every opportunity in front of her and she threw it all away, yet somehow still acts like an entitled brat and like she is amazingly successful and above everyone around her. I am trying to empathize with her, thinking that perhaps the enormous amount of pressure she both put on herself and felt from her father to be successful, tipped her over the edge. However, I won't lie, it's hard for me to feel bad for this woman. I don't think she will recover until she is willing to accept what she has become.
