I think Sans is considered a tumblr sexyman, in spite of his appearance. He's short, lazy, a tad rotund and a lax jokester. However, he cares deeply for his brother, he woo'ed Toriel, who's the queen of the underground, meaning he's got game, and most importantly, when he's not lax he threatens to KILL YOU and does it in the most INTENSE andhardest fight in the game, and he's got big boy job as a royal scientist. Its the juxtaposition of Jokester and Serious that give him an appeal, which for some is seen as very attractive, that he's got big responsibilities and the skills to back it up, but when at face value acts all silly. Kind of like that the white haired blindfolded guy from Jujutsu Kaisen. Examples of the trope Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass.

I met Dan A proud after a Blues Brothers concert in Detroit in 1980 n was blown away by how EXTREMELY nice n cool n friendly he was!!! A very cool experience I'll never forget!!!
