I’m a black man been a black man on my life in America and I can tell you it takes a lot for free speech to cross the line. It is purposefully written into our constitution that way. The fire example in a movie theater is a perfect analogy to free speech. You can say whatever you want when it comes to free speech the catch we stop you from having free speech if what you say is harmful to others, but even then not all instances apply. If you yell fire in the movie theater and you create mass panic that’s harmful that’s a threat it cost someone their life no free speech. If you threaten someone with your words, you could be jailed sure you can say whatever you want but now you’ve caused fear in the mind of someone else. Telling a lie well that could be harmful both civilly costing someone money or criminally. You can’t say what you want in that case. However, opinions you can say whatever you want then, it could be the harshest cruelest opinion in the world. It doesn’t matter we believe in free speech because we believe you are free to think whatever you want in America we don’t want to limit what you are allowed to think and believe therefore we don’t limit what you can say, because if we did, we would place all sorts of limitations on what you can, and cannot say, and we would limit how you are allowed to think so these students who do go out there and say some very outrageous things they are allowed to say those things. We even saw students listening to Osama bin Laden and guess what you can’t stop them from doing that. Now platform such as Facebook Twitter google what have you they can say I won’t host this content that’s perfectly fine, but even in America, we tell people you can listen to whoever you want even if they are a terrorist now the government may look at you to make sure you are not a terrorist, but they can’t stop you from listening to them
