Did you know that your example of Jamaica and homophobia is not actually accurate... before Africa was colonised and Africans were enslaved Africa had a very accepting attitude towards LGBTQ+ people... There was even a few gay emperors. Also the idea of gender was very different .. gender was not determined by genitalia at birth but by the characteristics of the person... Many men actually had 'male wives' who would live with the husband among his other wives. It wasn't until Africa was colonised by Christan and Islamic missionaries and had their culture taken from them/ taught that being LGBT was bad that they started to have a homophobic attitude... So it's not actually something that was deeply rooted in their culture. It was forced upon them... The same happened to indigenous people- the native Americans had the belief that there were 'two spirit people' and there was a similar belief in ancient Egypt.. (this wasn't an attack or anything. I really enjoyed your video... I just thought I'd let you know :)

I'd never heard the term limbic capitalism before and it makes so much sense. The reward mechanisms we evolved with to feel satisfied have been weaponized and turned against us. I think what most of us are seeking is as meaningful a life as possible: deep relationships and experiences.
