This was fun! I was born in 1959 and remember my mum wearing these in the 1960s. She always wore a girdle when going down the street to buy groceries. She was always impeccably turned out when she left the house and she's Italian, so she had the bella figura going on. I used to roll my eyes as a teenager, but now appreciate the aesthetic sensibility of those times.
